##NATURAL HABITAT:##
This terrestrial species inhabits the tropical rain forest and mixed woodlands and forests of Australia & New Guinea. Adults require a 8' x 3'x 3' enclosure in captivity.
##BEHAVIOR:##
Males can become territorial, separate from other males. Aggressive at first, will usually tame with handling. Likes dark areas for hiding.
##CAPTIVE ENVIRONMENT:##
Use full spectrum lighting 12-14 hours per day. Provide a basking area with access to a cooler zone. Provide several climbing areas on branches, logs, & plants.
##TEMPERATURE:##
Day temperature should be gradient from 80-90 degrees F. Maintain night temperature range between 72-80 degrees F. Use reptile heating pads under tank for 24-hour heat.
##HUMIDITY:##
This species requires moderate to high levels of humidity.
##WATER REQUIREMENTS:##
Provide a large fairly deep bowl for drinking and soaking. Mist enclosure every 3-4 days. Keep habitat well ventilated.
##NUTRITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:##
This carnivore will accept ground raw turkey & eggs. Feed appropriate sized rodents (mice, hamsters, rats). Always offer variety for proper nutrition. Eats variety of larger worms (earthworms, meal/wax worms). Dust food with calcium and vitamins.
